- On the back, every sleep, until age 1
- Firm, flat surface — no inclines
- Room-share, don't bed-share
- Never asleep with baby on a sofa or armchair
- Bare crib: no pillows, blankets, bumpers or toys
- Stop swaddling at the first sign of rolling
If you're not sleeping even when your baby is, or you feel persistently low, anxious or hopeless — please tell your doctor. Postnatal depression and anxiety are common and treatable.
